With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, love is in the air, and what better way to express it than with a kiss. Unless your valentine is a coffee drinker. (Only joking!)

Tea, though, does contribute to oral health. Tea contains flouride, which hardens tooth enamel, and polyphenols which inhibit the growth of bacteria which cause tooth decay. Research also indicates that brewed black tea inhibits the growth of the oral fungus Candida (which is responsible for oral thrush).

A topic for romance this is not; however, enjoying a romantic cup of tea together before that long and lusty kiss appears to be as beneficial as chewing on a garlic clove (unless you’re spending Valentine’s in Transylvania).
